I bought this set of books for my 5 year old daughter. She’s is just starting to read on her own now and gets a big thrill when she can. Up to now, I’ve been reading for her or at reading some of the words. This set of books is really good because once you get to know the character names and you know the title there really is only a few new words in the book which means the reader can read it themselves without help which is so important for confidence.
They are really basic books though so you may feel you are ripped off with the price.
My son, aged 3 and a half thoroughly enjoys these books. He will be studying them when he starts school in September and already has an interest in the characters. It has proved a good start for his reading abilities. Recommended.

Rather more basic than I had expected, but a good incentive to read more.
